This collection of poems gained Neruda international recognition. It was published in Santiago, Chile in 1924, when the Poet was twenty years old. The collection includes some of Neruda's most famous poems, among which Cuerpo de mujer, Te recuerdo como eras, Me gustas cuando callas.

This is one of 70 copies letterpress-printed on off-white Magnani paper, made in Pescia, Tuscany, which include an original graphic print by Ugo Nespolo, made expressly for this edition, signed and numbered. Technique: stencil (“pochoir”).

In the year of the centenary of Venti poesie d’amore e una canzone disperata, on October 22, 2024 the Tallone Press inaugurated an exhibition of autographs, memorabilia, and bookseditions at its premises in the presence of the Ambassador of Chile, Ennio Vivaldi. The following works by Neruda were published in first edition by the Tallone Press: Sumario. Libro donde nace la lluvia (1963), Sommario, libro dove nasce la pioggia (1963), La Copa de Sangre (1969), Discurso de Stockholm (1972).

A total of 324 copies were printed, of which:
.218 copies printed on off-white Magnani cotton paper, made in Pescia (sold out). Copies 1 to 70 include a graphic print by Ugo Nespolo, signed and numbered, made expressly for this edition;
.52 copies printed on Amatruda cotton paper made in Amalfi;

A volume in 8vo format (cm 19,5x30) of 128 pages typeset by hand in 12 point Tallone type. This exclusive typeface was designed by Alberto Tallone in 1949, hand-cut on punches by Charles Malin, and cast by Radiguer in Paris.

The volume is housed in a hand-made slipcase and box, custom made to an exact size, whose exteriors are covered with Ingres paper. The book title is letterpress-printed on the slipcase’s spine.
