This is one of 120 numbered copies.

The collection includes the following texts: the Prophecy of Tiresias (Book XI of Homer's Odyssey), the Last Voyage of Ulysses (Inferno, Canto XXVI of Dante's Divine Comedy), the monologue Ulysses by Alfred Tennyson (written in 1833).

The three texts are closely linked to each other: Dante narrates Ulysses' final voyage, which Tiresias had prophesied in the Odyssey; and Tennyson's monologue draws inspiration from both of them.

A volume in the 8vo format (16x26cm) of 56 pages typeset by hand in movable metal types.

In particular, the preface was typeset in pt 10 Garamond, hand-cut on punches in 1914; the Prophecy of Tiresias was typeset in pt 12 Didot Greek cut in 1885; while for the other texts the Tallone type was used, which was hand-cut on punches in 1949.

The number of movable types used for the hand-typesetting of this book make it an exceptional endeavor in the contemporary printing scene.

Printed on very fine paper and sewn by hand, this collector’s edition is a sophisticated gift meant to last over time and designed to give the best reading experience possible.

It is handmade in one of the most ancient typographic studio in the world, in operation since the late 1700s.

Neither monotype nor linotype are used. These typesetting systems from a keyboard are often passed off as manual typography. The Tallone Press also does not print from plastic plates derived from digital compositions (photopolymer plates).
